In 2017, Dave became only the 8th CEO in Spahn & Rose Lumber Company’s 121 year history. Spahn & Rose is a leading supplier of lumber and building materials for professional contractors and builders. With 31 locations across Iowa, Illinois, Georgia, Wisconsin, Arkansas, and Alabama, the company offers high-quality building materials including lumber, windows, doors, decking, cabinetry, roofing, drywall and more.

Spahn & Rose was named 2022 Dealer of the Year by LBM Journal, a national honor recognizing Spahn & Rose’s performance and leadership among companies generating $100M+ in annual sales. They were named 2023 Dealer of the Year by Iowa Lumber Association, recognized by peers for outstanding service, community engagement, and commitment to ethical business practices. In 2024, the Des Moines Register recognized Spahn & Rose as a Top Workplace in Iowa, highlighting the company’s strong culture, employee engagement and commitment to its team.

Prior to Spahn & Rose, Dave served as Corporate Vice President, Supply Chain for the Bostwick-Braun Company, a diversified wholesaler of hardlines, MRO, and specialty retail products located in Toledo, Ohio.

Earlier in his career, Dave was Vice President Sales & Marketing for the Aubuchon Company in Westminster, MA and Vice President, Sales and Marketing for The True Value Company in Chicago.

Skilled in Acquisitions, Negotiation, Budgeting, Market & Strategic Planning, and Consumer Products, Dave and his wife Donna have seven children, eight grandchildren (so far), and two shelties.
