Austin Huskey is the third-generation owner and CEO of Huskey Building Supply, a family-owned business serving the greater Nashville area. With over 300 team members across three lumber yards, a millwork shop, and a component plant, Huskey is uniquely positioned to serve the growing market in middle TN and beyond.
Austin’s journey began early—some of his first memories are on the lumber yard. He spent summers working in various roles, from warehouse and receiving to truss building and millwork delivery. These formative experiences instilled in him a deep appreciation for the industry and the value of hard work.
After completing his education, Austin developed a passion for lumber purchasing, dedicating years to honing that skill. In December 2019, he officially stepped into the role of CEO, continuing the legacy alongside his father.
Austin is deeply committed to developing people and driving operational excellence. He is a lifelong student of Lean principles, inspired by the Toyota Production System and its emphasis on continuous improvement. At Huskey, he leads with a focus on daily Lean improvements and enjoys helping others along their own Lean journeys.
